Chris has worked most of his life for PRS for Music of which he was IT Director. Recently he became Managing Director of the International Copyright Enterprise (ICE), which is jointly owned by PRS for Music and the Swedish rights Society, STIM, and is based in Stockholm. This has led him to resign from most of his musical activities, which, since 2008 have included playing piano for Alton Operatic and Dramatic Society and conducting Alton Choral Society. Most of his musical career has involved playing a variety of instruments in pit orchestras, rock ‘n’ roll bands and jazz bands, but he is now mostly conducting and writing music. His cantata On Christmas Night was premiered by Alton Choral Society and Alton Concert Orchestra in December 2009 and he is completing a Hampshire Suite for Alton’s Last Night of the Proms in July 2010. His wide taste in music should ensure that Cantique’s programmes remain varied, and he is also keen to introduce larger and more demanding works into the repertoire.
