From the first concert in July 1997 until the end of 2006, Cantique has given 50 concerts and has been involved in concerts which have raised over £23,000 for charities and other good causes. Concert venues include Farnham, Fleet, Odiham, Chawton, Wield, Churt, Farnborough, Alton, Bentley, Newnham, Farringdon, Horsham and Frensham.
Our repertoire extends from William Byrd to modern composers such as Richard Rodney Bennet, John Rutter and Lennox Berkeley, and we also have sung numbers by the Beatles.
Some of our members also compose and arrange, and most of our concerts since we began have included one or more pieces by members of the choir.
Cantique does not make any charge for giving concerts, but we are always happy to receive donations and any money we are given goes to purchase music to extend our repertoire or booking rehearsal space. No member of Cantique receives any income from the choir.
We may also be available for weddings. We do make a charge for this, and any income also goes towards music purchase and rehearsal space.
